Holiday Shows to Bring In the Stars at Merrittville Speedway

THOROLD, ONTARIO (February 25, 2019) … Merrittville Speedway is continuing to get ready for their 68th season of racing in 2019 at the historic Thorold, Ontario speedplant. The 2019 schedule is nearing completion as well as season passes are on sale before a price increase after March 1.
Season passes are $350 for drivers and $450 for pit crew passes. Both prices will increase to $450 and $475 respectively after March 1. Grandstand season passes are $265 for students and seniors, $285 for adults and $315 for reserved seats. Contact Merrittville Speedway’s Don Spiece at (905) 708-5534 to get your passes before the price increases.
Merrittville will be releasing their 2019 schedule at the Pen Centre Mall car show over March break (March 9-16) during regular mall hours. Spots are filling up fast for the mall shows. Contact Don Spiece at (905) 708-5534 to register for the car show today. The complete 2019 schedule will be available online at www.merrittvillespeedway.com in the coming weeks.
The days are continuing to count down until the 2019 Spring Sizzler, featuring the Southern Ontario Sprints, 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, and 4 Cylinders on Saturday, April 20. As it is Easter weekend, Merrittville Speedway will be hosting a huge Easter Egg Hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny for the kids. Anyone interested in donating prizes for the Easter Egg Hunt prize table is encouraged to contact Merrittville Speedway Office.
The three Monday holidays will be action-packed nights of racing at the Merrittville Speedway. Victoria Day Monday (May 20) will feature the inaugural visit by the UMP Modifieds featuring former NASCAR driver Ken Schrader. The Action Sprint Tour, Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks, and the V6 are on the card plus a School Bus Race. Canada Day Monday, July 1st will feature the return of the full-fender Late Models as part of the Late Model Alliance. The Action Sprint Tour, Sportsman, Duel of the Dirt event for the Hoosier Stocks plus FIREWORKS. Civic Holiday Monday, August 5 will see the return of the Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series plus the BEI Lightning Series. The BEI event saw the highest sportsman car count in the region. Also, on the card will be a $1000 to win Mini Stock Duel on the Dirt event plus a pre-race Chicken BBQ.
Merrittville Speedway is continuing to upgrade the facility on both sides of the racetrack to ensure another successful 68 years of operation. From the introduction of RACE MED team, increased purses, pristine track conditions, new LED lighting, Merrittville is a crown jewel of racing in Southern Ontario.
Merrittville is continuing to improve its premier division, the 358 Modifieds. The Wegner W-16 motor option has made it more economical for teams to move up into the Modified division. Over the next few weeks, Merrittville will be releasing an impressive driver roster, a whos-who in Modified racing expecting to call Merrittville home on Saturday nights.
